VOULA HALLIDAY

Cookbook Author & Chef

Voula is a Cordon Bleu trained chef, educator, professional recipe developer, cookbook author, and illustrator.

Her work has appeared in print and digital formats in a variety of publications including Bon Appétit, Canadian Living, National Post, Fresh Juice, Reader's Digest Canada, Best Health, Food & Drink,and Chatelaine, where she was both a contributing editor and an associate in the test kitchen developing and testing many of Chatelaine’s best-loved recipes.

Voula served as co-chair of both the Toronto and Canada boards of Slow Food. She is one of the founding members and creative collaborators supporting the development of Terroir Symposium, and to date remains on the executive team in Program Development since the first event in 2007.

Voula was the executive chef and program coordinator for a local Toronto District School Board Public School where she ran a commercial kitchen, an apprenticeship program, and she provided delicious nutrient-rich morning snacks and lunch to the students and their teachers every school day. The dishes prepared featured ingredients primarily sourced from local producers.

As Vice Chair of the Food Media Advisory Committee Voula contributed to the launch of the Post Graduate Studies Food Media Program at the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts, Centennial College. She worked in the program as an adjunct professor in both the Post-Graduate Food Media and Food Tourism programs.

Voula has appeared on a variety of Canadian television and radio shows and was an in-house Chef Expert on the award-winning CBC daytime show, Steven and Chris.

Eat at Home is her first cookbook. She has two new books coming out soon.

Voula has worked with a variety of clients and brands promoting good food and healthy living. 

She was on the team of experts that launched the world’s first eco-points programs - Green Rewards - acquired by Loyalty One, the successful team behind the AIR MILES®loyalty program.
